Most trekkers make an early morning ascent from Ghorepani to Poon Hill to witness the spectacular sunrise over the Himalayas. Trip Itinerary

Upon your arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu, our representative will greet you and transfer you to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you can explore the bustling streets of Kathmandu, soaking in its cultural and historical landmarks.

After an early breakfast, Scenic 7-hour drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara. The journey offers picturesque views of rural Nepal, terraced fields, and the Trishuli River. Pokhara, known for its serene lakes and stunning views of the Annapurna range, provides a perfect gateway to the trekking adventure ahead.

Drive to Naya Pool from Pokhara and begin your trek to Tikhe Dhunga. The trail ascends through terraced hillsides, quaint villages, and lush forests, offering glimpses of the Himalayan peaks. Tikhe Dhunga, at 1,570 m (5,150 ft), serves as your first overnight stop after a 6-hour trek.

Continue trekking towards Ghorepani, ascending through rhododendron and oak forests. The trail includes stone steps and occasional steep sections, rewarding you with panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Ghorepani, at 2,850 m (9,350 ft), is a picturesque village surrounded by rhododendron forests, where you'll stay overnight after a 6-hour trek.

Start early for a morning hike to Poon Hill (3,210 m / 10,531 ft), a famous viewpoint offering spectacular sunrise views over the Himalayas. After enjoying the sunrise, return to Ghorepani for breakfast before continuing your trek to Tadapani. The trail descends through forests and ascends gently to Tadapani, at 2,700 m (8,858 ft), where you'll spend the night after a 7-hour trek.

Descend through forests filled with bird songs and occasional wildlife sightings towards Ghandruk, a charming Gurung village. Enjoy stunning views of Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre, and Hiunchuli along the way. Ghandruk, at 1,940 m (6,364 ft), allows for a leisurely afternoon exploring the village and interacting with the local Gurung community. Trekking duration is approximately 3 hours.

Descend further from Ghandruk to Naya Pool, passing through terraced fields and small settlements. From Naya Pool, drive back to Pokhara, a journey of about 2 hours. Upon reaching Pokhara, relax and enjoy the lakeside ambiance, reflecting on your trekking experience amidst the Himalayan foothills.

After breakfast, depart from Pokhara for Kathmandu via a scenic 8-hour drive. Enjoy the changing landscapes and rural countryside views along the journey. Upon reaching Kathmandu, you can explore more of the city or indulge in some last-minute shopping and cultural experiences.

After breakfast, depending on your flight schedule, you may have some free time for final activities in Kathmandu. Our representative will transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward journey or homeward-bound flight, concluding your memorable Ghorepani Poonhill trekking experience.
